I stayed at a hotel with a falling-to-bits two-story room, complete with two huge televisions that I didn't care about. The steep and long flight of stairs internally faced into the patio, adding some thrill to the stay. However, the shower and wardrobe were also part of the room's character.

The hotel's location was right in the heart of the town, although navigating through tiny one-way streets to reach it added a touch of adventure. The historic setting of Merida made up for any initial disappointments.

Unfortunately, the dining experience fell short of expectations with limited offerings and the need for negotiation in Spanish with the staff. The basic setup in the central atrium didn't add much to the ambiance.
